11/025 | Agent Wander Makes Complete Archive Public, Including Newly Recovered 2011 SessionThe long-lost Urgent.fm performance resurfaced in 2025 and is now available alongside Agent Wander’s complete catalogue.
In 2025, Agent Wander brings his full back catalogue online for the first time. The release includes the newly recovered 2011 Urgent.fm session ‘Esperanza’, thought lost for over a decade, now restored from a surviving mp3 recording. Agent Wander is the musical project of songwriter Wim Kesteloot. The debut album Nighttime Battles (2008), recorded as a duo with Thomas Noël, was captured live in a living room in Ghent and carries the same intimate, drifting spirit as the nine love songs that shape it. In 2011 the EP Vanguard followed, recorded with the full band: one baritone guitar alongside a razor-edged Strat, warm round drums, deep bass, and Wim’s low, baritone voice — a downtempo, low-rock atmosphere that often moves in 6/8. That same year, Agent Wander appeared in an intimate live session on Urgent.fm’s Esperanza. The original multitracks were lost, but the session resurfaced in 2025 thanks to Miro Burgelman, who had kept an mp3 of the performance and interview. Wim is currently active as WiltMan, releasing a series of lo-fi and experimental albums including Lo-Files 1, 2, and 3, Amor Fati, and Compil Instrumental. He also accompanies his Dutch-language poetry with music, releasing that work under his own name. |
